progress report

So far I’ve built issues, oceans, events, host an event & forum.
If you add to the CSS, please put your new code at the bottom of the page. This will make it easier to compile into one page later.
I have saved each page as a .php document. I have saved the header and footer in a file called “include”, which is on the same level as the images and style folders. Doing this makes it easier to edit the header and footer files — I only have to change them once, I don’t have to go into each and every page. It’s a time saver!

Another Version…
Here are other versions of landing pages. I also made the banner image on the home page a little more “aggro activist” as an idea. I also changed the text to a darker color for illustration purposes.

Well, it was the prettiest day of the year and I spent it in front of my computer. Argh. Hope you guys had a better day.

I had a hard time with the dropdowns. I guess I never did them using image for text — I’m getting the main nav image all the way down the ul ul…
I’ll ask Jamie about it at class.
I also kept the center “participate” text white, even though you both mentioned you couldn’t read it. I am hoping that it’s easier when it’s at full scale. If not I’ll change it. I think it makes the design too busy though — that’s why I resist.
I’m not 100% happy with the spacing between the blocks, so I’ll keep tinkering.
We need to have a second page built out — which I think I can do, but I’m not sure what to build — don’t want to redesign anything.
What have you guys designed? Mini — what pages are you working on ?
I also realized that the sitemap changes I made in class didn’t make it onto my chip — so I’m a bit confused about the site structure — my own fault, I know… but I’m afraid we’re going to have to go over it again on Thursday — sorry!

Final Design?
Here’s what I’ve come up with as a final design. The brighter one (bp_3) uses the colors we selected. In bp_4, I toned everything down just a bit. I think it’s a little easier on the eyes. I played around with the logo too — if you don’t like it post one you do like and we’ll vote. Once I get the okay from you two I’ll start building out the homepage, so let me know!
